X-Engine Performance
State of the art diesel-driven efficiency
WinGD’s single-fuel X-engines, running on fuel oil or gas oil, have been designed with a precision control fuel injection system that distinguishes them from other engines.
The Flex electronically-controlled common-rail system is an evolution of that in our earlier RT-flex engines, a long-time market leader in electronically controlled low-speed marine engines.
Common-rail technology provides great flexibility in the engine setting for lower fuel consumption, lower minimum running speeds, smokeless operation at all running speeds and better control of exhaust emissions. The excellent regulation of the engine’s operational performance provided by the Flex system also results in good manoeuvring capabilities and the lowest possible operating speeds, for example, during canal transit and port entrance.
Waste Heat Recovery
Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) is an effective technology for simultaneously cutting exhaust gas emissions and reducing fuel consumption.
Steam Production Control
In order to improve the steam production on board via the exhaust gas economiser, WinGD’s diesel-fuelled X-Engines can be equipped with a controlled exhaust gas bypass valve.
