🚢 A milestone in Maersk’s move towards methanol-fuelled shipping
With WinGD Ltd. X-DF-M on board, Tangier Mærsk has been delivered to A.P. Moller - Maersk as the first vessel in a new series of six 9,000 TEU mid-size container ships. Designed to operate on methanol, the engine supports Maersk’s continued progress towards lower-carbon shipping.
On her maiden voyage, Tangier Mærsk will call Shanghai before entering deployment on Maersk’s TP15 service, connecting East Asia with the US Gulf Coast via the Panama Canal. The vessel was delivered three months ahead of schedule by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group. Four additional ships in the series will follow later this year, with the final delivery planned for early 2027.
WinGD Ltd. is honoured to be part of Maersk’s journey and to support its long-term decarbonisation ambitions.
