WinGD RT-flex / X-Engine Performance Optimisation Course

For marine engineers with practical experience with RT-flex and X-engines, who wish to improve their operational skills.

Course objectives

After completing the training course, the trainees will be able to understand and assess engine performance and to perform fine tuning of RT-flex and X-engines to achieve optimal operational parameters.

Target group:

The training course is aimed at marine engineers with practical experience with RT-flex and X-engines, who wish to improve their operational skills. It is also highly recommended for technical managers and marine superintendents.

- Engine performance basics
- Turbocharging operational aspects and turbocharger efficiency evaluation
- Engine performance data analysis and evaluation
- Typical performance issues
- Engine performance optimisation and exercises on W-Xpert Simulator

Course duration: 5 days

WinGD RT-flex / X-Engine Piston Running Optimisation Course

For marine engineers with practical experience with RT-flex and X-engines, who wish to improve their operational skills.

Course objectives

After completing the course, trainees will be able to understand and assess the running behaviour of the pistons and to adjust cylinder lubrication to achieve optimal tribological 
performance.

Target group:

The training course is aimed at marine engineers with practical experience with RT-flex and X-engines, who want to improve their operational skills. It is also highly recommended for technical managers and marine superintendents.

Course topics: 

- Aspects influencing piston running behavior
- Engine design (piston rings, liner, lubrication system)
- Engine operation (cooling water and scavenge temperature)
- Fuel and cylinder lubricants and their correlations
- Selection of cylinder lubrication oil and CLU system adjustment
- Cylinder lubrication system troubleshooting
- Condition assessments of the cylinder liner and piston rings

WinGD RT-flex / X-Engine Electrical & Automation Course

For electrical engineers and supervisors who need familiarization with electrical and electronic hardware on WinGD common-rail two-stroke engines.

Course objectives

After completing the course, trainees will be able to understand all electrical & electronic hardware of a WinGD common-rail electronically controlled two-stroke engines

Target group:

The training is aimed at electrical engineers and supervisors who need familiarization with electrical and electronic hardware on WinGD common-rail two-stroke engines. Trainees should have prior knowledge of marine two-stroke, low-speed diesel engines and be able to read and understand technical drawings and documentation. Basic electrical electronic skills are an advantage.

Course topics: 

- Familiarisation with WinGD electrical drawings standard
- Introduction to WECS-9520 and/or UNIC engine control systems
- Power Supply concept of RT-flex and X-Engines control systems
- Sensors and actuators on the engine
- Earthing and shielding concept
- Data bus transmission (CAN, SSI and ModBus)
- Cabling guidelines and consequences of incorrect wiring
